Web Sites
Web content
needs to be prepared in a way that is easy to grasp on screen. It can
also take advantage of the multi-dimensional quality of the web.
- Finding contacts
is one of the most important functions of a web site. A 'contact us'
button or address, phone and email listing should be on every page.
- Keep content short and crisp. Put the most important information in
the first paragraph.
- Apply a consistent style to the site and contents.
- Scrolling is
unpopular. Break longer documents into blocks and use links to join
them. Use bulleted or numerical lists where possible.
- Take advantage of links to add additional resources.
- Make your site media friendly. Have a button for news on the home
page that leads into your news items and a press contact: the name,
phone and email details of someone who can respond to media inquiries.
